Want to join the Choir?

The Austrian Choir always welcomes new members. This year especially we are looking for new Tenors and Basses, but all voices are always welcome.

Our singers come from all walks of life, of all ages and nationalities. The ability to read music is not necessary (although an advantage), and neither is the ability to speak German fluently. However, a strong interest in performing Austrian and German music is obviously expected from you.

There is no initial audition process, but rather a few weeks of attending rehearsals to see if our Choir is what you would like to participate in.

After that if you want to stay, you will have a discussion and maybe a simple suitability test with the musical director.

Rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening from 7.30 - 9.30 pm at the Austrian Centre in Heidelberg. One thing we do like our singers to have is a sense of commitment and reliability. Our members will do their best to make you feel welcome. Apart from our music, we also value a friendly social relationship within our Choir.
